Independent leadership for a resilient Connecticut
I’m Adrian Bonenberger, unaffiliated candidate for governor. I’m running on one big idea: pushing power down to Connecticut communities, so they have the ability to keep themselves and their neighbors safe. Too much power has been centralized at the federal and state level for too long. To empower individuals and strengthen communities, and to fight against corruption, we need to decentralize authority to the smallest level feasible.
Announcement! Gwen Samuel has joined the Bonenberger campaign as Lieutenant Governor candidate. PRESS RELEASE
For decades, Americans have endured bloated and inefficient defense budgets, misguided foreign military adventures, and widespread abuse of federal power. Meanwhile, communities have become almost wholly reliant on state and federal entities for disaster response. What happens when those entities are busy? We need a way to reimagine safety, security, and service. Connecticut can lead the way.
I’ll use the power of the Governor’s office to lead a movement that empowers Connecticut’s communities to face modern-day challenges. Locally led entities that are regulated by the state and, accountable to individual citizens, this effort will center human security, not national security. It won’t just serve communities. It will bring them together.
Connecticut needs to return to its roots: durable, nonpartisan, local institutions led by neighbors serving in their communities.
