Independent leadership for a resilient Connecticut

I’m Adrian Bonenberger, independent/unaffiliated candidate for governor. I’m running on one big idea: pushing power down from the state level to Connecticut communities, so they have the ability to keep themselves and their neighbors safe. I’m building a movement for a voluntary State Guard at the town and city level that will put agency back in the hands of Connecticut citizens — the way the Founders intended.

Will you join me?

For decades, Americans have endured bloated and inefficient defense budgets, misguided foreign military adventures, and widespread abuse of federal power. We need a way to reimagine safety, security, and service focused on protecting localities. Connecticut can lead the way.

Protection at the community level used to be a Yankee tradition. Participation in local defense forces is tied to self-governance, civic identity, and democracy.

I’ll use the power of the Governor’s office to lead a movement that empowers Connecticut’s communities to face modern-day challenges with a voluntary State Guard. Locally led, accountable to individual citizens, and not deployable outside the state’s borders, this effort will center human security, not national security. It won’t just serve communities. It will bring them together.

Connecticut needs to return to its roots: durable, nonpartisan, local institutions led by neighbors serving in their communities.
